We are currently accepting resumes/applications for a Senior Commercial/Ag Workout Officer. This critical role will focus on managing troubled borrower relationships and loans that have entered into special mention or collection status. The individual in this position will be responsible for ensuring that the bank's Commercial and Agricultural loan portfolio, including those with adverse credit ratings, is handled effectively and in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubled Loan Management: Manage and work through troubled commercial and agricultural loans in special mention or collection status. Collaborate with borrowers to develop and implement appropriate strategies to address credit issues, mitigate losses, and preserve the bank's financial interests.
- Portfolio Review: Monitor and assess the credit quality of loans, especially those exhibiting signs of distress. Conduct regular reviews of loan performance, including detailed assessments of financial condition and collateral values.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers in distress. Provide proactive, solutions-oriented communication to build trust and facilitate mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Loan Restructuring and Workouts: Develop and implement strategies for loan workouts, modifications, and restructuring when necessary. Work closely with the legal and collections teams to ensure the resolution of distressed loans in a manner consistent with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all actions related to troubled loans comply with applicable state and federal regulations, the Bank's internal lending policies, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving regulatory requirements in the commercial and agricultural lending sectors.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports and updates for senior management, including status reports on problem loans, resolutions, and any actions taken. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all communications and decisions related to troubled loans.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CBA, etc.) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial/agriculture lending, with at least 3 years of experience managing distressed loan portfolios. Prior experience with agricultural lending is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of commercial and agricultural lending, loan structures, and credit risk management.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements related to banking, credit, and loan workouts.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive borrower relationships.
- Analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial situations and identify appropriate solutions.
- Proficiency with financial modeling, loan underwriting, and portfolio management software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Salary : $80,356 - $140,000
