The Associate Payroll Analyst is responsible for the administrative maintenance of the time and labor, absence and payroll functionality of the human resources information technology applications, support for other payroll technology activities, maintenance of payroll procedures and documentation, review of payroll processing audit reports and providing guidance regarding payroll processing activities.
Administer time management system activities, review import and payroll override errors and coordinate resolution, reconcile control totals for the payroll run, maintain system documentation, train new users and assist with troubleshooting issues. (20-25%)
Process new hires, terminations and employee changes. Establish and maintain payroll records including earnings, deductions, tax withholding and garnishments. Complete payroll reconciliations and funding. Ensure all records are processed accurately and timely. (20-25%)
Coordinate with other company departments and government agencies to review the requirements for the administration of contract provisions, state disability programs, garnishment, wage assignments and other payroll processing items. Review and update payroll procedures and documentation. (15-20%)
Manage phones and email communication, and triage help desk requests. (15-20%)
Perform additional responsibilities related to payroll projects as requested or assigned. (5%)
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resource, information technology or a related field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Three years related payroll or human resources system experience.Personal computer skills; demonstrated proficiency in Word and Excel. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.Effective communication skills including listening, verbal and writing skills to process and present information timely and accurately. Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
