The business systems analyst I is responsible for functional application maintenance, analyzing and resolving application/system issues and recommending and implementing corrective and enhancement modifications to accommodate customer and business requirements.
Performs day-to-day architectural design and support of a specific application or family of related applications working closely with technical analysts. Communicates proposed changes/solutions with user group management to determine the extent to which corrections or enhancements can be implemented and their effect on current process and procedure. (20%)
Analyzes application issues providing recommended solutions/system changes with detailed written documentation. Accountable for product test and final sign-off of system changes. Creates, revises and executes test plans of low to moderate complexity and identifies impacts. (20%)
Provides daily application support including, but not limited to, accuracy of system data, parameter table maintenance, parameter table design, implementation of new parameters/tables, daily production processes, daily production controls, security table access, system workflow and communication regarding application/system problems and changes to all end users. (20%)
Performs application data queries to troubleshoot system problems or provide user requested reports. (20%) Provides input for application release planning. (5%)
Audits promptness and efficiency of application-related activities and recommends process improvements. (5%)
Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning. (5%)
Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5%)
Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or related field or equivalent related work experience. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Eighteen months of work experience in a related functional/technical area and/or comparable internship or collegiate experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows operating environment, relational database environments and specialized analysis, design and testing tools. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
