Job Description
The engineer - supply provides technical work and directs others in technical work in the planning, designing, procurement and construction of additions, changes or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's generating units.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering services for the planning, design and construction of project additions or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's generation system. (40%)
Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (25%)
Conduct engineering studies and investigations and prepare oral and written reports. (15%)
Provide engineering assistance to other departments. (15%)
Attend training in designated areas. (5%)
Qualifications
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
Three years of industry experience as a practicing engineer for the engineer II position.
Five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE for the senior engineer position. If no PE license then must have eight or more years as a practicing engineer.
Fifteen years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE for the principal engineer position.
High level of technical knowledge, judgment and capability in the engineering discipline.
Effective communicator with technical and managerial personnel within and external to MidAmerican Energy Company.
Broad analytical skills. Advanced project management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
