Job Description
The senior payroll project analyst is responsible for the testing and implementation of updates, modifications and enhancements to payroll and time and labor systems. Responsibilities include recommending, planning and implementing HR systems, upgrades, modifications and enhancements; analyzing data in support of HR administration and projects and providing technical support and training to functional users.
Responsibilities
Leads the research, defines requirements, develops test plans and implements system updates to the payroll and time and labor systems. Recommends and implements modifications and enhancements to the payroll and time and labor functionality in the human resources systems. Coordinates with company representatives and benefits, payroll and IT staff to complete system setup and testing to integrate human resources systems. Acts as a liaison to information technology, accounting, treasury and payroll customers to coordinate activities and resolve issues. Develops reports and analyzes data from HR systems for responding to data requests, meeting regulatory requirements and supporting HR metrics. Develops standard reports, user procedures, guidelines and documentation and train functional users on processes and functionality to effectively utilize the system. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, human resources management or related field or equivalent related work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Five years of related experience in multi-state payroll administration or human resources information systems. Knowledge of payroll regulations, processes, and related applications and experience with the integration of HR systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify key causes and workable solutions. Proficiency in software skills to create spreadsheets and databases and to extract information from the human resources/payroll, time entry and general ledger systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
