Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a vital member of our medical staff, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals and community care environments. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are passionate about patient care and have experience working in diverse medical settings, including Level II Trauma Centers and geriatrics.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic life support as needed and ensure patient safety at all times.
- Support the nursing staff in administering medications and treatments as directed.
- Assist with the movement of patients using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Engage with pediatric patients when necessary, ensuring comfort and understanding.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health systems.
Skills
- Proficient in providing patient care in various settings, including hospital medicine and home community care.
- Knowledgeable about Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage and maintenance.
- Experience working with children as well as geriatric populations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to lift patients safely while adhering to proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Familiarity with basic life support protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Compassionate approach to caregiving that prioritizes the well-being of patients.
