Salary Range: $127,004.80 – $216,008 per year

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Privacy Officer to oversee compliance with federal and state laws governing the privacy of health information. The Privacy Officer will work within the Ethics and Compliance Program to implement, monitor, and enhance privacy-related initiatives across Parkland Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of privacy policies and procedures.
- Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to guidelines set by OCR, OIG, DOJ, CMS, and Texas HHS.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement compliance audits, reporting findings to leadership.
- Educate and train staff on privacy regulations, best practices, and ethical standards.
- Investigate privacy-related incidents, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Oversee and enhance patient privacy protocols while fostering a culture of compliance and transparency.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including legal, IT, and healthcare professionals, to manage privacy concerns effectively.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to third-party audits, government agencies, and regulatory inquiries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all privacy-related concerns within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in healthcare compliance, privacy, or operations within a large healthcare system.
Certifications:
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)
- Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US)
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare privacy regulations.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance-related software.
