Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Providence Swedish Cherry Hill Campus. The ideal candidate will have experience in interventional cardiac procedures, including managing pre/post invasive procedures, cardioversion, and electrophysiology. As a PCU RN, you will play a vital role in caring for patients recovering from complex cardiac interventions and procedures, ensuring they receive the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Short Stay Unit, focusing on interventional cardiac patients.
- Float to inpatient units and Same Day Surgery as needed.
- Administer medications, including IV therapy, stable drips, and manage blood products and procedure sedation.
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from procedures such as PCI, TAVR, mitral valve clip placements, and cardioversions.
- Assess, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias using tele monitoring.
- Perform specialized procedures such as sheath removal, TEE, and epicardial pacer management.
- Conduct breathing treatments (CPAP/BiPAP), trach care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Ensure proper documentation using Epic and manage patient care through the Pyxis medication system.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, particularly with interventional cardiac procedures.
- Current RN licensure in Washington or compact license (Swedish honors compact licenses).
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
- Experience in sheath pull, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management of stable drips is required.
- Float requirement to inpatient units and Same Day Surgery as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with cardiovascular patients (e.g., PCI, TAVR, mitral valve clips).
- Telemetry interpretation experience.
- Familiarity with procedure sedation, blood product administration, and defibrillation.
