Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while accurately documenting their automotive needs. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians.
Duties
- Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs, including oil changes, brake repairs, and suspension issues.
- Document customer concerns and relay information to technicians for accurate diagnosis and repair.
- Provide estimates for services, upselling additional repairs as necessary based on mechanical knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently.
- Ensure that all customer inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in areas such as oil changes, brake repair, shocks and struts, alignment, and auto body repair.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to customers in an understandable manner.
- Proven upselling skills to enhance customer satisfaction and increase service sales.
- Experience with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
