Intern-Field Ops Analyst - Sioux Falls, SD

JOB PURPOSE:

Support the Field Operations team through the collection and analysis of data. Spend time shadowing frontline team members to understand the workflows and processes that generate operational data, developing new insights to better inform and enhance analytics projects. Assist with improving operational efficiency by combining field observations and data analysis to make recommendations for process improvements.

This 10 week internship will begin June 2, 2025 and will be located in our Sioux Falls, SD office.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Leverage multiple, complex data sources to conduct exploratory data analysis.
• Build and validate new data sets as needed to solve analytics requests.
• Analyze complex data sets and assist in the production and presentation of reports and dashboards.
• Interpret data and make recommendations, providing evidence to support recommendations.
• Create clear and compelling visualizations to communicate key insights to stakeholders.
• Assist with the development and upkeep of metrics, documentation, reports, dashboards, and other tools.
• Develop and produce reports and dashboards with insights supported by analytics and business logic.
• Contribute to the design and execution of data experiments and analyses.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation related to data analyses, reporting, and processes.
• Shadow frontline field teams during relevant activities to understand the workflows and processes that generate operational data and gain insight into the decisions and challenges faced by team members.
• Relate field observations to analytics tasks; use these insights to inform and enhance data analyses.
• Build lines of communication with field team members, supervisors, and leadership to build relationships and gather insights and feedback.
• Partner with the Field Operations analytics team and stakeholders to solve operational challenges.
• Coordinate efforts across operational teams to drive the implementation of new processes.
• Understand and work proficiently with analytical tools and models.
• Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco’s Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
• Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
• Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics, Data Science, Business, or related disciplines required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with SQL and/or Python/R is preferred.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
