Description
JOB PURPOSE :
Learn and improve network security skills and gain knowledge about day-to-day security operations in a business environment. Assist the Network Security department in protecting company information assets by completing projects that will improve the overall security of the organization. An intern in the security area will gain a working understanding of the business case for network security and become familiar with network security operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Regularly analyze network traffic to identify unusual patterns or potential security threats.
- Assist in responding to security incidents, including identifying, analyzing, and mitigating threats.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security equipment and software.
- Inventory, document, and evaluate the security status of network-attached devices.
- Stay updated on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, to anticipate security breaches.
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and annual reports as necessary.
- Attend meetings to learn about business practices, internal processes, and procedures.
- Be willing to work on special projects as assigned.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
- Adhere to privacy guidelines to ensure each customer's privacy.
- Maintain regular attendance.
