What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Supervisor - Brunswick Head Start Center position at Midcoast Maine Community Action?
Position Summary: The Center Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of center teaching staff, coordination of center operations, and the implementation of all Agency, state, and federal policies, procedures, and practices. The person in this position will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of multiple child development facilities in two locations and assuring successful communication between families, staff, administration, and the communities served. The Regional Supervisor provides and implements procedures for effective, high-quality, family -centered child development programs.
Qualifications: Successful candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years paid experience in early care and education is required, as well as at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Cross training in human and family services is desirable. The ability to communicate effectively, to implement program goals and objectives, to establish and maintain positive working relationships, and to organize and prioritize tasks are essential qualities for success.
Other Requirements:
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, adequate automobile insurance per state standards, and access to reliable transportation; compliance with MMCA policies pertaining to safe vehicle operation required.
· Prior to starting employment, must be able to pass fingerprinted criminal background, child protective services, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record checks, as required by state and federal childcare licensing regulations, that indicate no previous record of involvement with child abuse or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal or motor vehicle record that would preclude working with children.
