What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIC Service Assistant - Belfast position at Midcoast Maine Community Action?
Working out of our Belfast office the WIC Service Assistant will provide telephone reception coverage for the WIC Program including answering the telephone, scheduling appointments using a computer-based system, and greeting program participants and clinic visitors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides telephone reception coverage, processes participant calls and schedules appointments.
2. Conducts eligibility screening, verifies information and orients participants to application process.
3. Provides clerical support: mail distribution, file and chart preparation, "no-show" letters, file VOC documents, and voided check register.
4. Maintains office, medical, and outreach supplies inventory; ordering supplies as needed.
5. Assists with staff outreach efforts in the community.
6. Completes other tasks assigned by WIC Nutrition Counselor II.
QUALIFICATIONS:
7. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
8. At least 1 years’ experience in a related position. Experience in office reception and/or customer service required
Other Requirements:
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, adequate automobile insurance per state standards, and access to reliable transportation; compliance with MMCA policies pertaining to safe vehicle operation required.
· Prior to starting employment, must be able to pass fingerprinted criminal background, child protective services, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record checks, as required by state and federal childcare licensing regulations, that indicate no previous record of involvement with child abuse or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal or motor vehicle record that would preclude working with children.
Rate of pay will be dependent upon experience and other qualifications.
This position is full-time [hours] and benefits eligible.
