Description of Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, provides comprehensive medical services by examining clients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments. The role of the Middle Flint Nurse Practitioner includes reviewing referrals from outside facilities for medical/psychiatric appropriateness, evaluating individuals accepted from the community to determine the need for inpatient treatment, and reevaluating individuals receiving treatment in our Crisis Stabilization Unit. The Middle Flint Nurse Practitioner is a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides inpatient stabilization for individuals admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit and assisting in the integration of the individuals back into the community once stabilized. The Middle Flint Nurse Practitioner would also be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team that provides inpatient stabilization to individuals referred from the surrounding courts for competency restoration. The Nurse Practitioner, at times, may participate in competency evaluations and court testimony as needed. The Nurse Practitioner at times will be required to spend a portion of their hours providing services at the Crisis Stabilization Unit and the outpatient clinic. Must be within reasonable location in order to travel to Warner Robins on a daily basis and flexible to work nontraditional hours at times.
Minimum Qualifications: A licensed Nurse practitioner who is a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, and a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Must have current Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure. Must have Basic Life Support, CPR and AED Certifications.
Preferred Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner with two or more years of training and experience diagnosing, treating and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment/support of the age and diagnosis specific population to be served. Psychiatric Certification preferred.
