Description of Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Nurse Practitioner delivers comprehensive medical services, which include examining clients, diagnosing conditions, and administering treatments. The Middle Flint Nurse Practitioner is tasked with reviewing referrals from external facilities to assess medical and psychiatric appropriateness, as well as evaluating individuals from the community to determine their need for treatment. While this provider may not be involved in inpatient duties, they will play a vital role in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that focuses on the transition of individuals back into the community following stabilization. The Middle Flint Nurse Practitioner will also be engaged in the ongoing treatment of substance use disorders, with a particular emphasis on opioid use treatment, including Suboxone therapy. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner may have to participate in competency evaluations and, when necessary, provide court testimony. This role will require the Nurse Practitioner to deliver a portion of their services at both the Crisis Stabilization Unit and the outpatient clinic. Candidates are preferred to have education and training in substance use treatment, specifically in opioid use management. The ideal applicant must reside within a reasonable distance to commute daily to Warner Robins and exhibit flexibility in working non-traditional hours as required.
Minimum Qualifications: A licensed Nurse practitioner who is a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, and a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Must have current Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure. Must have Basic Life Support, CPR and AED Certifications.
Preferred Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner with two or more years of training and experience diagnosing, treating and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment/support of the age and diagnosis specific population to be served. Substance use treatment education and training in opioid use management preferred.
