What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Officer/Dispatcher position at Middle Flint Regional E-911?
Middle Flint Regional E9-1-1 Authority is accepting applications for the position of Communications Officer. This position is responsible for answering 9-1-1 emergency calls and dispatching first responders. Minimum qualifications include: High school diploma or GED; birth certificate and valid proof of U.S. citizenship; valid Ga driver's license; good vision, hearing, and a clear speaking voice; a clean criminal history; very good keyboarding skills (25 words per minute or better); computer literate with at least basic knowledge of popular computer systems; great multi-tasking skills; be able to work 12 hour shifts; days, nights, weekends, holidays etc. Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment skills and computer competency test. Prior experience working in an Enhanced 9-1-1 facility preferred but not required. This is a full-time position.
