POSITION PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of the Dietary Director and collaboration with the Environmental Services Director, the dietary assistant will prepare appetizing food for patients and residents as determined by the day’s menu and census. The dietary assistant assumes a role in the regulation of food production and designated matters as stated in this job description. This position will be trained in Dietary Food Service practices to be implemented into daily practice at all locations. In combination with Dietary, additional duties are under the supervision and scheduling of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Services Technician performs a wide variety of tasks to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of all MPH facilities. Provides laundry services for some hospital linens and personal items for patients or residents in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepare and receive food and supplies sent from Kremmling for patient meals at other locations.
- Responsible for a variety of duties related to food and nutrition services at all locations.
- Consults Clinical Dietitian, RDN on modified diets, as necessary.
- Maintains excellent record keeping.
- Demonstrates understanding of the operation and regular cleaning procedures of kitchen equipment and reports any malfunction to the Dietary Director or Maintenance Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- EVS Training
- Pass and maintain current BLS certification (within 60 days of hire).
- Pass and maintain current ServSafe certification.
- Knowledge of food preparation and use of basic kitchen equipment and tools
- Ability to follow recipes and adjust as needed for specific patient diet.
- Previous experience in hospital food preparation preferred.
- Flexible to adjust to various patient requirements and patient loads.
STATUS: Full-Time Granby and Kremmling
SALARY: $18.03 - $23.52 DOE - $2000 Sign-on Bonus for FT; $350/mo Housing Stipend available for residents of Grand, Jackson or Summit county
