Night Charge Nurse - Emergency Department - Kremmling
POSITION PURPOSE: The Night Charge RN provides assistance and care for patients, supervises nursing and support staff, offers guidance and support throughout the shift, maintains a clean and safe working environment, and ensures that all operational tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Additionally, the RN is responsible for providing care to the patient population(s) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge in the Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes through the implementation of clinical pathways. Available for on-call duty.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provides direct patient care as needed
- Assigns lunches and breaks for the staff
- Insures standards of patient care through QA monitors
- Anticipates physician needs
- Communicates problems involving personnel, medical staff, patients, families and the general public to the appropriate management personnel
- Attends monthly charge RN meetings and staff meetings
- Attends hospital and department committee meetings as assigned
- Oversees process improvement projects, chart audits, and other department related responsibilities as assigned
- Makes an assignment according to the needs of the patient and the capabilities of the staff
- Utilizing the Nursing Process the RN provides direct clinical nursing care and services to the ED and inpatient population, monitoring, measuring patients’ progress towards goals, and redirecting care based on assessment of individual client needs to successfully achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Licensure: licensed as a professional Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Combined 2 years experience of Medical – Surgical Nursing /or equivalent and Emergency Department Nursing -preferred.
- Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital - preferred
- Basic Life Support – BLS.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support – ACLS
- Trauma Nurse Core Course – TNCC
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support – PALS / ENPC
- NRP- Neonatal Resuscitation within 6 months of hire
- Charge RNs will have first priority for scheduling shifts when creating the schedule as long as 24x7 coverage is provided. If Charge RNs are unable to work out their schedule collaboratively to provide appropriate coverage, scheduling preferences will be given in order of seniority determined by total years working at Middle Park Health.
Status: Full-Time Nights
Compensation: $36.00 - $58.00 per hour DOE Shift Differential *FT Permanent eligible for $10,000 Sign-On $350/mo housing stipend for residents of Grand, Jackson, or Summit county.
