MPNN CSB provides community-based services for individuals with mental illnesses, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities, to individuals in the Middle Peninsula Northern Neck regions of Virginia.
Position Overview:
The Mental Health Therapist/Assessor is responsible for providing Comprehensive Needs Assessments as part of Same Day Access to allow Adults and Children with their guardians to walk in for full evaluations and referral to services. The Assessment includes gathering information re: social history, current and past functioning, outcome of previous services, and other factors as well as formulating diagnoses to determine current needs and eligibility for services. This position is a key member of the MPNN CSB team and plays a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based treatment to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Educating families about treatment options and freedom of choice.
- Provides Comprehensive Needs Assessments and referral to services for adults and children.
- Maintains complete, accurate, and current clinical records
- Offers consultative services regarding mental health, substance use, and intellectual disability issues to referrals and the general public.
