The position of Occupational Therapist is responsible for:
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of diagnostic instruments, sensory and physical therapy equipment with can include goniometer, reflex hammers, splinting materials, weights, wheelchairs, etc.
- Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
- Initiates contact with the family within the designated 30-day timeline to implement services; tracks all families that have an IFSP within a document and/or a spreadsheet to once a month with the Director and/ or Clinical Coordinator to ensure compliance with IFSP.
- Conducts wide range of developmental screenings using a variety of instruments; conducts in-take and makes recommendations for assessment; facilitates developmental assessments of referred children; coordinates development of Individualized Family Service Plan (Plan of Care).
- Manages services provided with Service Coordinators and other medical providers.
- Attends workshops, training, and conferences pertaining to early intervention.
- Participates in formulating program goals, policies, and procedures.
- Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.
- Performs other related work as required.
- Assists in training of new staff in area of expertise.
- Ability to navigate and bill within an EHR for each family that receives Motor and/or OT services
- Ability to manage a caseload of at least 30 children and families.
