Position Title: School Counselor
Reports To: Assistant Head of School
Position Provides Support/Services to:
· Middlebridge Students
· Middlebridge Families
· Middlebridge Faculty
· Liaison for off-campus professionals
Position Summary: To provide professional, clinical, and mental health counseling to students, as well as individual, couples, and group counseling and psychotherapy in both short- and long-term modalities contingent on need, as well as crisis de-escalation and intervention as needed.
- Individual counseling and/or Psychotherapy: Meet regularly with a caseload of students
- Document and maintain clinician records as appropriate/required
- Crisis de-escalation and intervention: Meet and assess students as needed
- Group counseling and facilitation: Run and facilitate groups such as Women’s Group, Men’s Group, LGBTQ Group, New Student Group.
- Consultation, education, and training of faculty on mental health issues
- Communication and support to student parent(s), families, and caretakers
- Meet regularly with the Assistant Head of School to discuss students’ growth, progress, and counseling goals.
- Attend school professional development days and daily faculty meetings.
- Meet with MBS faculty to provide student guidance and insights as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with outside clinicians and physicians to support students and families.
- If interested, the school counselor may teach daily Emotional Intelligence Classes
- Design and create Emotional intelligence Curriculums
- Teach daily Emotional Intelligence classes
- Meet with the Emotional Intelligence Department to discuss and collaborate on the curriculum
