What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Bartender position at Middlebrook Mercantile?
Middlebrook Mercantile is a one-of-a-kind bar, event space, coffee shop and retail location specializing in local goods, unique wines and live music. The Mercantile is a great place to enjoy a day or evening in the Middlebrook Agrihood in Cumming, IA.
The Farmhouse at Middlebrook Farm is an event space in the heart of Middlebrook. This newly-renovated venue is now available for private events and we are looking for team members to also work these functions.
We are looking for a fun-loving, hard-working crew to tend bar, work private events at both the Mercantile and Farmhouse, and sell an array of breakout wines, coffee and local goods.

- Excellent guest service skills. The Mercantile is THE destination for a great time.
- Multitasker. You’re the bartender, wine guru and checkout person.
- Bartender. We offer craft cocktails, wine flights and local beers.
- Barista - Middlebrook Mercantile now offers coffee!
- Storyteller. All good wines have a great story. The better the storyteller, the better the sales!
- Adventurer. The Middlebrook Mercantile is a new concept and we are all taking a journey into the unknown together.
Other super powers:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds up stairs
- Ability to stay on your feet for 4-6 hours
- Ability to be trained on and master our Point of Sale system
- Ability to effectively communicate guest and staff concerns to management, and communicate effectively with your coworkers
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to own your shift, making decisions that improve the guest experience.
- Ability to abide by the Iowa Liquor Laws
- Must be 18
This is not a full time position. We are offering 12-24 hours/week.
