Summary of Position:
We are seeking a dynamic front of house professional with both International and Virginia wine knowledge. We require at least a Level 1 WSET certification for this role. Our Restaurant and Wine Manager reports to the Food and Beverage Director and leads a team of ~15.
Responsibilities:
▪ Directly supervise FOH service staff including servers, bartenders, and server assistants according to RFI&T standards and policies
▪ Manage the pre-shift FOH setup and meeting to ensure staff follows RFI&T procedures, is assigned a proper service section, stays informed of daily menu changes, 86 items and other matters affecting operations
▪ During service, supervise, manage and continuously monitor the FOH to ensure communication and smooth operation of the team, and ensure our “Every Experience, Every Time” standards are always met
▪ Ensure all guests are given exceptional service that follows the RFI&T service standards and resolve any problems that arise in a courteous and timely fashion
▪ Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the establishment, employees, and guests
▪ Understand, improve and enforce all RFI&T policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs. Report all violations of company policies, rules and procedures to HR
▪ Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the RFI&T complex, building and guest room features, inn packages, food and beverage menus, and events packages offered
▪ Possess a “sales mentality” across all departments and constantly focus on building Inn, Tavern and Event sales into all daily interactions with guests
▪ Maintain and enforce policies and procedures that assist with the smooth operation of the FOH on a daily basis. Ensure all staff consistently follow these policies and procedures and stay informed of any updates or changes made. Supervise and motivate all FOH staff to exceed stated RFI&T and customer expectations
▪ Assist the management team with the following departments: Guest Services, Inn & Tavern Operations, BOH Operations, and Holidays & In-House Events
▪ Complete additional duties as delegated by the management team to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
▪ Be flexible and fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Inn & Tavern
▪ Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with policies and procedures
Qualifications:
***Must have at least a Level 1 WSET certification
▪ Be at least 21 years of age.
▪ Previous fine dining restaurant experience required
▪ Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
▪ Must possess impeccable grooming qualities and dress in business attire
▪ High energy, luxury language, professional body language, and integrity
▪ Demonstrate teamwork, customer service focus and strong multitasking skills
▪ Possess basic math skills, have the ability to operate a cash register, POS system, and computer systems
▪ Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
▪ Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
▪ Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
