JOB SUMMARY:
The high school principal is the instructional and operational leader of the school, responsible for setting the academic tone and fostering a safe, inclusive, and high achieving learning environment. The principal manages faculty and staff, oversees curriculum implementation, and collaborates with district leadership, parents, and the community to support student success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Guide development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous curriculum aligned with Indiana Academic Standards.
- Use data-driven decision making to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
- Develop and lead professional development initiatives to enhance instructional capacity.
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, budgeting, facilities, and compliance with school district and state policies.
- Supervise and evaluate teachers and staff in alignment with the local evaluation model.
- Ensure school safety and implement crisis management procedures.
- Recruit, hire, and retain high quality educators and support staff.
- Maintain a fair and consistent discipline framework that supports student growth and aligns with district policies.
- Ensure services for diverse learners, including MLL, Special Education, and high ability students.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
- Serve as the public face of the school and represent the school at district and community events.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure alignment with school goals and instructional priorities.
- Recognize and reward effective performance; address performance concerns through coaching, discipline, or corrective action as needed.
- Respond to and resolve staff or stakeholder concerns in a fair and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and district policies.
- Oversee the supervision and support of extracurricular programs, events, and activities.
- Stay current with best practices by engaging in professional development opportunities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must hold a valid Indiana Building Level Administrator License (P-12).
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in instructional leadership and school administration is preferred.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
225 days. Salary to be determined by the Administrative Salary Schedule.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of corporation policy and state law.
