Job Summary: As the Engineering & Culinary Assistant, your primary duties will be to assist the Engineering, Culinary, Continuous Improvement, and Sales teams with customer product testing and finished good performance testing. Customer product testing will be conducted leveraging completed ovens β evaluating functional operation, validating finished goods to customer specific specifications, documenting temperature and gas measurements, and observing overall product performance. Finished good performance testing will be conducted while cooking various food products, taking pictures and documenting food temperatures, and rating the product after baking/cooking. Baseline key performance measurements will be gathered for new and legacy products for continuous improvement initiatives over the lifetime of the product.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and developing engineering projects, including preparing plans while following specifications.
Assist with troubleshooting design problems and communicating results to executive leadership.
Assist with conducting culinary tests, in conjunction with Sales and Engineering, to support the identification of future business opportunities.
Maintain and manage product testing logbooks and document test results while assuring quality compliance and best practices.
Assist in assembling parts and wiring products to perform testing in a lab environment.
Support new product development initiatives including prototype and pilot builds.
Use hand tools and equipment to build and calibrate test fixtures.
Support warranty improvement, production, and engineering/culinary requests as needed.
Support the evaluation of returned and field test units to support Engineering and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Assembly work experience in the Food Service industry preferred
Culinary experience minimum of 3 years
Light Travel required (including some potential overnight)
1-2 years related product testing experience or equivalent combination of training/education and experience
ServeSafe certified preferred
Strong electrical, mechanical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Computer proficiency utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Some weekend and evenings will be required
Reliable Transportation required, local errands to be expected.
