Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of equipment used in construction and other projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and schematics to complete tasks
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Collaborate with project managers, foreman and supervisors to ensure efficient operations
- Supervise and train other equipment operators as needed
- Manage materials and resources effectively
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure work meets specifications
Site Preparation: Cleaning and preparing construction sites to eliminate hazard.
Utility Installation: Laying pipe and other utilities.
Safety Compliance: Conducting safety inspections and adhering to industry standards.
Restoration: Refilling trenches, tamping soil, and restoring disturbed areas.
Teamwork: Assisting other crew members.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Equipment Operator in a construction or similar setting
- Proficient in operating a variety of heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
