Junior Varsity Cross Country Coach

Brief Description:
The Board of Education of the Middlesex County Magnet Schools is currently seeking applications to fill the position of Junior Varsity Cross Country Coach.
Salary will be based on the Junior Varsity Coaches salary guide in effect for the 2025-2026 school year. Appointment is made on a yearly basis.
If a Junior Varsity team cannot be fielded within ten (10) days of the first official practice, the position will not be filled.

Responsibilities:
The Junior Varsity Coach will have full responsibility for the Junior Varsity level team as well as assisting the Varsity Coach with such athletic team activities as practice, travel, attendance at home and away games.


Qualifications:
Be the holder of a New Jersey State Teacher’s Certificate and/or a County Substitute’s Certificate, have knowledgeable background of the sport as a player or coach in college or in high school, sub varsity coaching preferred, and a successful background in working with young people in a related sports field. Coaches will be certified in CPR/AED and Sports First Aid and must register for the NFHS Coaching Principles Course, if new to the profession, within 120 days of employment. The candidate must have completed “A Guide to Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention” course as well as “Concussion in Sports – What you need to Know.” Certifications need to be completed prior to the first day of the season.

Appointment is at the discretion of the Board of Education.
