- Teach a rigorous curriculum covering AI and robotics fundamentals, advanced systems, and research applications
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate hands-on laboratory experiences
- Guide students through programming in Python, ROS, Arduino, and other relevant platforms
- Instruct on hardware components including Arduino systems, sensors, and robotic platforms
- Teach mathematical concepts essential to AI and robotics including algebra, probability, and statistics
- Lead students through machine learning, computer vision, and control systems projects
- Integrate ethics, safety, and professional development into technical instruction
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including robotics kits and computing resources
- Support student research and innovation in emerging technologies
- Applicant must be eligible for NJ CTE Certificate 4148 Computer Science Technology or 2545 Engineering Technology
- Bachelor's degree in or higher in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science,Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred
- OR Associates Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering Science, Industrial Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Information Technology, Network Systems, Software Technologies or related with 4000 hours of work experience
- OR 8000 hours of work experience in relevant O*NET codes
- 3 years of experience in AI, robotics, or related technical fields
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python, ROS, machine learning frameworks, and robotics programming
- Strong understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, and computer vision
- Experience with project-based learning and laboratory instruction
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Passion for developing the next generation of AI and robotics professionals
- Strong foundation in mathematics, programming, and physical computing
- Understanding of current AI and robotics technologies and industry applications
- Ability to manage classroom resources including hardware kits valued up to $1,000 per student
- Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, and similar frameworks
- Familiarity with technical writing and research methodologies
- Understanding of AI ethics and safety considerations
- Appointment is contingent upon continued grant funding
- Appointment is at the discretion of the Board of Education.
- The district can assist a qualified candidate to obtain the appropriate NJ CTE Certificate of Eligibility (CE) and enrollment in an on-the-job Alternate Route teaching program as needed. More information on NJ CTE Teacher certification can be found at www.nj.gov/education/license/cte
