Car Transportation Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Substitute Car Driver to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school on a daily basis, as well as to extracurricular events on a non-regular basis. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles prior to every trip to ensure safety and detect any defects;

• Use established routes and designated bus stops to ensure efficient transportation;

• Operate vehicles on approved time schedules and report any accidents or student injuries to authorities;
">
• Instruct riders on responsible passenger behavior and drive defensively under varying traffic conditions and inclement weather;
">
• Report personal absences in a timely manner to secure a substitute driver and maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior;
">
• Perform other duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor, including adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements:

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent;
">
• Submit at least two references attesting to your ability, character, and qualifications;
">
• Meet car driver certification requirements and possess a valid Virginia driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles;
">
• Meet state requirements for appropriate licensing and physical examination;
">
• Meet local or state standards for driver record checks and driving tests;
">
• Possess the ability to operate all vehicle types used in transporting students.
