Overview
The Office of the Middlesex County Counsel seeks a candidate for a full-time position as a Deputy County Counsel with the following qualifications:
- Candidate must be self-motivated, organized and possess excellent research and writing skills to prepare and/or review legal opinions, policies, contracts, memoranda, agreements. A commitment to provide legal assistance and advice to the Board of County Commissioners, County Administration, and all Department Heads and Office Directors
- Candidate will be responsible to provide legal guidance and advice to Department Head and Office Directors in matters, including but not limited to, County government business, and affairs, Administrative Law, Labor and Employment law, Open Public Records Act, Local Public Contracts Law, Open Public Meetings Act, Election Law, Civil Commitment matters.
- Opportunities to cover administrative and court proceedings.
Requirements:
Candidate must be licensed to practice law in the State of NJ and be a member in good standing with 3-5 years, preferred experience. Typical work shift is 8:30am to 4:15pm. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits include health and dental insurance, paid time off and pension plan.
