Job Description:
The Physical Therapist plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, working closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and flexibility with scheduling.
- Administers Physical Therapy services under medical prescription, adhering to hospital regulations, state practice acts, and quality standards.
- Provides clinical oversight of Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) to ensure seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with patients, considering their safety, educational, psychological, and developmental needs.
- Interprets patient data, sets realistic goals, and revises treatment plans as needed, explaining treatment objectives, techniques, and outcomes to patients and family members.
- Displays expertise in recommending various therapeutic procedures and modalities to enhance patient recovery.
- Maintains accurate documentation, adhering to professional and departmental standards.
- Crafts effective home exercise programs for each patient.
- Manages an adequate caseload, meeting departmental productivity standards.
- Participates in ongoing education seminars to maintain licensure requirements and presents educational programs to rehab staff or other medical professionals.
- Fosters open communication with the Rehabilitation Supervisor, team members, and referring physicians to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Pursues other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the State of Connecticut.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic medical charting.
- 3-5 years of clinical experience.
- Flexibility with scheduling.
