Position Summary
This position is responsible for the timely and accurate scheduling and registration of patients for appointments and procedures. The position also interfaces with physician’s offices and other outside providers, providing excellent customer service. This position is essential in ensuring patients are able to receive referred services with accurate information and have a seamless transition when they arrive onsite.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs the following:
- Schedules outpatient procedures/appointments accurately.
- Registers patients by collecting insurance and demographic information. Informs and collects any out of pocket costs for services.
- Makes and responds to telephone inquiries from patients and physician’s offices in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Successfully multitasks in a Call Center environment.
- Provides superior service that exceeds customer expectations so that relations with our customers are maintained and enhanced.
- Accurately collects and documents patient data in computer systems to ensure safe patient care as well as providing necessary information used in the billing of the exam.
- Adheres to prescribed standards of safety and HIPAA within the healthcare organization

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in data entry.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Ability to multitask between multiple systems and duties simultaneously required
- Excellent communication skills (telephone, written, and inter-personal and customer-relation)
- Works independently using professional judgement and also works well with others as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- One year experience in a hospital or medical office/setting in a registration or scheduling role preferred.
- Knowledge of EPIC.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Previous experience working in diagnostic imaging preferred.
- Knowledge of Third Party Payors preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in collecting patient deductibles, copays, previous balances preferred.
- Working Knowledge ICD-10 Preferred
