Position Summary
Applies the nursing process with patients and families, integrating principles that reflect sensitivity to their age-specific/developmental needs, gender, culture, religion, psychosocial and socioeconomic backgrounds in order to provide evidence-based, holistic care in a manner that respects the worth and dignity of each individual. Practices professional nursing as a registered nurse within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice and Code for Nurses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Under of the Director of Surgical Services, the Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for performing a full range of tasks in providing care and oversight for the staff and patients of the unit. The Assistant Nurse Manager oversees the day-to-day functioning of the including staffing and scheduling, evaluating staff, and collaboration with other departments and physicians in order to ensure smooth operations and excellence in patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager monitors and ensures excellence in staff engagement as evidenced by meeting set expectations for behavior and communication and holds individuals accountable for their actions. S/He provides resources that The Assistant Nurse Manager creates an environment where open, honest communication allows for nursing autonomy, shared responsibility, mutual respect, and teamwork as evidenced by staff involvement in clinical nursing practice and optimal staff satisfaction scores.Previous leadership, supervisory, or charge nurse experience
Preferred Requirements: Master's degree in Nursing, Education, or other related field Two or more years' of supervisory or management experience Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
