Department: Central Sterile Services
Hours: Full-Time/36 hours
Shift: Nights
Position Summary:
The Central Sterile Supply Technician Intern collects, cleans, decontaminates, sterilizes surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply materials and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Tech Certification (IAHCSMM or CBSPDT) within 18 months of hire
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required for tracking system interface
- Ability to work within a fast paced team oriented setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous CSS experience
- Good problem solving and/or decision making skills
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to react and perform under strict timelines and/or emergency situations
- Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Demonstrates qualities which support professionalism and teamwork
