Position Summary
Provides basic life support to patients in the pre hospital and emergency department settings, respecting their age-specific/developmental needs, gender, culture, religion, psychosocial and socioeconomic backgrounds. Operates within the statutory and regulatory framework established by State of Connecticut Office of Emergency Medical Services at the E.M.T. certification level.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and deliver emergent care in a safe manner.
- Must be able to safely transfer and move patients utilizing hospital approved transportation equipment. Have good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must maintain at all times: State of Connecticut EMT-B certification and be in good standing with CT DPH and any current or prior hospital medical control; BLS CPR certificate; valid State of Connecticut driver’s license.
- Must be 21 years of age.
