Summary:
Middlesex Hospital is offering an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant working for a busy surgical service. It offers a block schedule that rotates four consecutive 12-hour night shifts, followed by eight consecutive days off.
This unique block schedule provides the equivalent of approximately 15 weeks of PTO annually.
The main responsibilities include surgical admissions and consults, patient evaluations, and first assisting in the operating room. The position encompasses care across all surgical specialties. The Physician Assistant will be expected to manage postoperative patients and will be involved in decision-making on routine and emergent issues. The position allows independent evaluation and decision-making with appropriate surgeon support and guidance.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with an emphasis on surgery. Successful completion of the NCCPA examination and licensed to practice in the State of CT
The position requires at least one (1) year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical or ICU field.
The salary is commensurate with experience and offers a competitive benefit package.
