Objective : To assist the Director of Recovery Services through oversight of all clinical aspects of MHSA's BSAS funded programs.
S c ope : Overall clinical supervisory role for staff in the conduct and facilitation of substance abuse counseling and related educational activities in BSAS funded programs. This role will ensure that quality, evidence-based clinical services are consistently provided to clients, coordinate with clinical supervisors, and support the professional development of the clinical team. The Clinical Services Director will also work closely with the Director of Recovery Services to ensure adherence to all Department of Public Health / BSAS standards, regulations and contractual obligations and maintain the highest standards of care. This is an exempt, salaried position. (Annual salary : $90,480, based on $43.40 per hour)
Responsibilities :
- Assist the Director of Recovery Services in supervising and coordinating all clinical activities at all MHSA BSAS-funded programs to ensure that high-quality, evidence-based clinical services are provided to all clients.
- Provide supervision and guidance to Clinical Supervisors and clinical teams, promoting a collaborative and professional environment.
- Ensure clinical services are designed and delivered to meet ASAM criteria, BSAS regulations, current best practices, and the diverse needs of clients in residential recovery programs.
- Provide Clinical Supervisor coverage for any programs without minimum clinical coverage.
- Schedule, design, implement and maintain records of staff training and development activities; conduct trainings and guide professional development for MHSA staff in relevant topic areas.
- Develop, implement, and review clinical policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality care and compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Review and update group therapy and educational curricula at all recovery programs on a yearly basis to maintain alignment with current best practices and client needs.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance clinical modalities and documentation, ensuring they reflect evidence-based practices and meet the evolving needs of residents.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to Clinical Supervisors, ensuring that clinical teams are well-supported and that staff performance aligns with organizational goals.
- Ensure all clinical services meet or exceed BSAS, MassHealth, and contracted insurance provider regulations.
- Prepare necessary reports, participate in or facilitate clinical meetings, and oversee weekly team case conferences to monitor treatment progress and address clinical challenges, as needed.
- Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and best practices in addiction recovery and mental health services, ensuring compliance at all levels.
- Oversee client intake and assessment processes, ensuring that residents receive individualized, compassionate care tailored to their recovery needs.
- Advocate for clients' needs within the organization and community, ensuring access to the appropriate resources and support services.
- Ensure residents receive culturally competent and effective treatment throughout their recovery journey.
- Provide clinical supervisor responsibilities as needed, supporting clinical staff with guidance, feedback, and troubleshooting as required.
- Participate in on-call clinical duties, rotating with the Director of Recovery Services, to ensure 24 / 7 support and availability for clinical emergencies and crisis management.
- Maintain open and professional communication with all clients, staff and outside contacts.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of clients and staff at all times.
- Assist with grant writing and fundraising activities.
- Provide direct client care as needed.
- Abide by all MHSA policies and applicable state and / or federal laws, especially regarding boundaries, strict confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
- Attend in-service and outside training and instruction as directed by the Director of Recovery Services or MHSA administration.
- Various other responsibilities, as assigned by the Director of Recovery Services from time to time and / or as needed to ensure proper functioning of the Agency.
