What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Public Safety Academy Office Administrator position at Middlesex Sheriff’s Office?
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) is seeking qualified candidates for our Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA). The goal of the YPSA is to establish respect and trust between children and law enforcement professionals. Counselors will help children build confidence and work as a team while focusing on the duties and responsibilities of law enforcement personnel.
Duties:
Under direct supervision of the YPSA Director, the Office Administrator must be able to work from 7AM to 5PM (flexible hours) Monday - Friday at the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office YPSA located in Chelmsford, MA. The Office Administrator is responsible for coordinating camp registrations. Must ensure there are adequate supplies for the YPSA on a weekly basis. The Office Administrator will work on a contractual seasonal basis from May 5, 2025 through August 8, 2025. Must work well with children in a positive educational environment and have the ability to teach 9, 10, 11 and 12 year old children about public safety. Perform other related work as needed.
Qualifications:
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The applicant must have an active valid driver’s license, the right to legally operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts, pass a criminal background check and subject to mandatory random drug testing.
Hourly Rate: $27.00. No additional compensation or benefits offered.

- Good communication skills;
- Must attend a temporary training academy
