Broad Function: The Bilingual Teacher will support the multilingual needs of our elementary, middle and high schools. This individual will be required to teach several subjects to one class of students at the elementary level with a focus on native speaking students. The Bilingual Teacher will provide a rigorous academic environment that actively engages students; incorporates best educational practices; creates an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and addresses the needs of all learners and supports the social/emotional development of the students. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Bilingual Teacher works collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with the parents of each student. At the Middle/High School level, the bilingual teacher will be responsible for teaching specialized subjects to multiple classes. This individual will be required to teach the designated material in two languages, transitioning between the two languages throughout the lesson. At the Elementary School level, the bilingual teacher will be responsible for teaching the Common Core Standards in the native language and/or in English for students who do not demonstrate proficiency in English. He/she will assist students with learning English and with understanding the culture of America and the community. Essential Functions:
