District/School Office Support Personnel
DISTRICT/SCHOOL OFFICE SUPPORT PERSONNEL
JOB GOAL:
To assist in maintaining the operations of the district’s/school’s office activities. To provide support to assure that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized through positive, smooth, and efficient performance. To provide secretarial assistance of a confidential, complex, and responsible nature to the administrator.
District/School Office Support Personnel is a 261 day employee.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated aptitude or competence in the performance responsibilities listed below:
1. Must possess strong organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects professionally.
2. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of accuracy.
3. Demonstrated computer skills.
4. Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Must be willing to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested.
6. Must maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law.
JOB DESCRIPTION: (Essential Common Functions):
1. Responsible for correspondence, reports, memos, and newsletters generated by the administrator.
2. Compile and coordinate essential and confidential data for action by the administrator.
3. Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data for Federal, State and district reports.
4. Greet staff, parents and the public in a professional manner consistent with the expectations of the district.
5. Place and receive telephone calls, record messages.
6. Perform general clerical functions for the purpose of supporting office operations.
7. Maintain database information.
8. Operate a variety of office equipment (copier, fax, scanner, plotter, etc.) to assist the district and schools needs.
9. Perform student related service as necessary (registration, residency, student data).
10. Receive and check-in deliveries to the district/school to assure acceptability and conformity with Business Office procedures.
11. Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive office environment.
12. Perform special assignments, studies, routine functions and other related duties as required by administration.
13. Assist in the coordination and distribution of non-public textbooks.
14. Assist in the coordination and issuance of working papers
15. Perform tasks or services consistent with the job goals of the position.
16. Assume other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent and/or Principal.
