What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher Assistants (Day To Day) position at Middletown Public Schools?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) or demonstrate literacy skills necessary to work with teachers and students.
2. Complete a training program approved by Rhode Island Department of Education within three months of employment or similar certification from another state.
3. Knowledge of health, safety and emergency procedures of the learning environment.
4. Support teachers by participating in instructional opportunities.
5. Support a learning environment that encourages appropriate standards of behavior and positive social interaction for students.
6. Interact effectively with staff, parents, students and persons outside of the school system.
7. Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
8. Demonstrate skills in computer literacy.
9. Work with minimum supervision.
10. Ability to adapt to unexpected interruptions of the daily work pattern.
11. Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to team efforts and organizational efforts.
12. Positive attitude.
