SKATE GUARD
The role of an ice skate guard is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for skaters, while also ensuring the smooth operation of the ice rink. It's an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy ice skating and want to contribute to a positive experience for others.
Responsibilities:
1. Skate guards will arrive to work on time for scheduled shift, following the opening procedures to ensure a safe experience for all.
2. Supervision of the skate rental booth where skaters both receive and return their rental skates.
3. As a skate guard, your main responsibility is to keep a watchful eye over skaters to prevent accidents and injuries while on the ice.
4. Skate Guards will maintain the tidiness of the skate rental room at all times.
5. Sound judgment on whether there are too many people on the ice to use "walkers".
6. When deemed safe and appropriate, skate guards will provide patrons with "walkers".
7. Enforce rink rules and regulations, such as ensuring that skaters are wearing appropriate gear and following proper etiquette.
8. In addition to safety, you'll also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the ice surface. (This may include clearing snow or debris from the ice)
9. Friendly and approachable is important in this role, as you'll often interact with skaters of all ages and skill levels.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
