Middletown Township is seeking a qualified and motivated Building Inspector/Plans Examiner to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety and integrity of our growing community by ensuring construction projects meet established codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and approved plans.
- Review and evaluate building plans, specifications, and other construction documents for compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
- Provide clear and professional communication with contractors, architects, and property owners regarding code requirements, inspection findings, and plan review results.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, plan reviews, and related activities.
- Stay updated on relevant building codes, ordinances, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Must possess certifications as an Inspector and Plans Examiner. Certifications must include building, plumbing, energy, and mechanical for residential and nonresidential construction projects.
- Current International Code Council (ICC) certifications required.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and inspection procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
