Job Summary: The Human Resources & Office Administrator serves in an administrative capacity to support the Plant Manager and all employees located at Phillips Tube Group of Middletown.
Essential Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Provides general office assistance as needed, including greeting plant guests, organizing executive visits, reviewing plant mail, as needed.
Works directly with the Plant Manager and Corporate HR Director to assist in carrying out human resource objectives, safety, and risk management matters.
Participates in community initiatives to build exposure and develop relationships that facilitate creating a candidate pool to meet organizational needs.
Assists with planning and managing plant celebrations, engagement events and volunteer activities that create a sense of community.
Leads and manages recruitment for plant openings from postings to offering positions to candidates.
Conducts new hire orientations and creates onboarding plans with Plant Manager.
Provides training for employees related to safety, human resources, policies, procedures et al.
Partners with Plant Manager for all employee relation issues/investigations.
Leads off boarding process for exiting employees.
Leads annual open enrollment for benefits and serves as the benefits admin for all employees.
Processes weekly payroll and updates HR metrics for the plant.
Tracks and reviews time and attendance and PTO for all employees.
Creates and maintains employment records and files.
Collaborates on all recruitment and works towards pipeline fulfillment.
Supports quality on audits and training records.
Develops training plans and records for new hires, interns and apprenticeship programs.
Updates all employees benefit selections on benefit websites.
Other plant projects as assigned by Plant Manager or Corporate HR Director.
Administers rewards and recognition programs for the plant.
Essential Requirements:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field pertinent to the role.
2-3 years’ experience serving in HR and office administration/coordinator role is required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Excellent written and interpersonal verbal communication skills.
Strong computer literacy skills in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
Meticulous attention to detail
Effective HR administration and people management skills.
Experience in processing payroll and benefits administration.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
