Job Summary:Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus level operations in a manner that supports a learning environment that maximizes the potential of each student. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.Lines of Authority:Reports directly to the Head Elementary Principal.Education:4 year college degree.Licensure:Current certification Experience:Minimum of three years’ experience teaching required. Skills:Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Organizational management skills. Ability to communicate with students, teachers, parents and members of the community. Ability to exercise good judgment and work in an environment with frequent interruptions. Transportation:Reliable transportation. Environmental and Working ConditionsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.Physical and Mental Effort:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.1. To administer within the school the approved school board and administrative policies. 2. To participate in the interpretations of school board and administrative policies to his/her staff members and to make recommendations relative to needed policies. 3. To assist in organizing and distributing to his/her teachers and pupils written handbooks declaring and setting forth rules and regulations for carrying out administrative school board policies. These documents should be detailed enough to help each student and teacher understand his/her duties and responsibilities. 4. To assist in organizing a schedule that will be a challenge to each student. 5. To assist in developing a schedule of teacher supervision that will insure adequate supervision for all students--in the halls, on the campus, in the classroom, and on school-sponsored trips. 6. To see that policies concerning supervision are enforced. 7. To direct and evaluate the work of all assigned personnel. 8. To comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.9. To promote desirable school-community relationships. 10. To appraise and recommend textbooks and other instructional materials. 11. To embrace shared leadership and collaboration with administrative staff and teachers12. To submit reports required by the superintendent and school board. 13. To serve as consultant to teachers and others on problems of pupils' attendance and conduct. 14. To serve as a leader—encompassing instructional, spiritual, social-emotional, and behavioral aspects—of his/her school.15. To ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.16. To see that lesson plans and courses of study are kept and used. 17. Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and community.18. Attend work regularly and is punctual.19. Other duties may be assigned as needed.20. Attends in-service trainings and staff meetings.
