Department : Athletics Job Description JD – ASAD-FBC Title : Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director Job Summary : Midland Christian School in Midland, Texas, seeks a passionate and experienced Head Football Coach / Assistant Athletic Director to lead and develop our high school football program in alignment with our school's purpose of Living for God, Loving Like Jesus, and Learning for Life. Our next head coach will be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and take on the God-honoring responsibility of fostering spiritual growth, character development, and athletic excellence in student-athletes while maintaining a competitive football program.Lines of Authority : Reports to the Athletic DirectorEducation : Bachelor ’s Degree or higher in education, sports management, or a related field.Required Personal Qualities :

Previous experience coaching football at the high school or collegiate level.Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.Ability to mentor and disciple assistant coaches and student-athletes, emphasizing character, discipline, and teamwork.Understanding of game strategy, player development, and program-building.Availability to attend all practices, games, events.Is in agreement with the Midland Christian School’s Statement of Faith and Purpose and supports the desired outcomes of the MCS Ideal Graduate Profile.Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience as a head coach or coordinator.Familiarity with TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) regulations and policies.Experience in fundraising, booster club engagement, and community outreach to support program growth.State of Texas certified educatorTransportation : Reliable transportation. Physical and Mental Effort : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, climb or balance, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.Classification : Exempt
Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead, develop, and implement a comprehensive 6th-12th grade football program that emphasizes Christian values, sportsmanship, academic, and athletic achievement.Provide Christ-centered leadership, mentoring, and discipleship for coaching staff and student-athletes.Plan and execute effective practice sessions, game strategies, and conditioning programs including assisting with our off-season programs.Recruit, train, and oversee assistant coaches and support staff.Maintain the highest standards of conduct, professionalism, and integrity within the football program.Coordinate with school administration, athletic director, and other sports programs to ensure compliance with school policies and athletic regulations.Coordinate with other football programs in and out of district to set the annual game schedule.Develop and maintain relationships with parents, alumni, and the local community to support and grow the football program.Ensure the proper care, maintenance, and inventory of football equipment and facilities.Assist student-athletes in the college recruitment process, as applicable.Work alongside our athletic director to assist with off-season athletics and TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) compliance.Other duties may be assigned as needed.Powered by JazzHR
