Job Overview
As a Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the community. This position requires a commitment to serve and protect citizens while upholding the law with integrity and professionalism. Officers are expected to engage with the community, respond to emergencies, and conduct investigations to ensure a safe environment for all.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
  • Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  • Write detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigations.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations; issue citations as necessary.
  • Manage conflict situations effectively using conflict management techniques.
  • Provide first aid and CPR as needed in emergency situations.
  • Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Off-duty work for School Athletic events and Church functions for $25 to $30 hr.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement practices, criminal investigation techniques, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to handle firearms and other police equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong conflict management skills; ability to de-escalate tense situations.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is advantageous.
  • Experience or training in animal handling is a plus.
  • Must pass background checks and meet physical fitness standards.
