YARD DRIVER ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Yard Driver operates yard mules to move trailers to designated loading/unloading sites as directed._ (Up to 30 moves per shift)_
- Moves trailer to designated unloading doors, loading doors, and full trucks from Plant and to compound.
- Driver is required to have CDL because he drives on roads to compound.
- Responsible for keeping the Daily Trailer logs.
- Spots and switches trailer as directed.
- Pre-Cooling Trailers before Load Out and checking Trailer temperatures and Fuel Levels.
- Supports tank receiving by backing in and pulling out tankers as needed.
- Cleans, washes, fuels trailers; and inspects for damages.
- Services switcher tractor by checking and replenishing liquid levels and draining air tanks.
- Daily DVIR’s Each Day and Shift.
- Keep Spotter Clean.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
YARD DRIVER QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years CDL/Yard driving experience
- Must be able to work 3rd shift hours
- Some Weekend availability
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug test
PREFERRED SKILLS FOR THE YARD DRIVER
- Class A CDL
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately record data.

- To stand/walk on your feet constantly during your shift, work constantly in a cold damp environment, mental focus, math skills, and communication skills.
