We are hiring multiple positions.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
PRN (Temporary)
Monday - Friday
8:30 AM - 2:00 PM (hours could be extended depending on need)
Essential Functions/Performance Expectations
Tester Role:
Beyond the basic risk of infection with INFLUENZA A/B / COVID 19, specimen collector must be prepared for other incidentals, ie, those inevitable errors where an errant swab triggers a nosebleed, or the provocation of the gag reflex initiates vomiting.

Essential Functions/Performance Expectations
- Functions as part of the team who is guided by the Lead in providing quality testing and care.
- PPE is required for all roles appropriately.
- Responsible for maintaining a high degree of accountability for confidential patient and medical information.
- These positions will have direct contact with patients and require use of appropriate PPE.
- Experience with patient care is a plus.
- Experience with electronic healthcare record data entry in ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.
- Responsible for accurate and timely computer data entry of patient responses to questionnaire and results of testing.
- Experience with electronic healthcare record data entry in ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.
- The most important part of the job, though, is data collection and registration, check-in of the patient. Personal information has to be collected so that the person can be contacted by the Health
- Department if the test comes back positive.
Tester Role:
- Responsible for handling potentially infectious specimens through the testing process utilizing testing kits with reagents, with the highest quality and integrity.
- Responsible for maintaining daily QC logs and Quality Controls of test kits and equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate testing logs of patients results.
- The standard test used to detect INFLUENZA A/B / COVID 19 infections requires inserting a sterile swab through the nose and deep into the nasopharyngeal passage to scoop out fluid that can then be analyzed.
- It requires close contact with a potentially infected patient which makes it risky for the healthcare staff who administer those tests, and for other patients in the testing facility.
- Specimen collector must also be prepared to answer other questions about the testing process or even about INFLUENZA A/B-19 / COVID19 in general since they will have the most interaction with patients.
- Handling potentially infectious materials and any necessary patient contact are the duties that fall to the specimen collector.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have experience with electronic healthcare record data entry in ambulatory healthcare setting. (Athena experience preferred)
- Preferred knowledge healthcare.
