What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Machine Set-Up Operator position at Midland Metal Products?
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Training: High school diploma or GED and technical training preferred.
Experience:
Experience in press brake machine set-up skill, knowledge, and must have proven abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ideal candidate is hands-on, has a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys problem solving, and is capable of successfully managing a team of diverse employees. with knowledge in utilizing a Cincinnati Milacron press brake equipment.
- Prior mechanical training or background. Strong mechanical aptitude Knowledge and
Skills:
- US Citizen or Resident Alien Card - Speaks English
- Knowledge of manufacturing technology, machinery, principals, and practices.
- Familiarity with standard tools and units of measurement - Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions.)
- Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management - Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter, high-energy, leader.
- Good understanding of mechanical and standardized processes.
- Ability to use problem solving methods and techniques to successfully and efficiently resolve problems.
- Well organized. Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through.
- Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, and climb. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Capacity to work as a member of a team or by oneself to achieve desired results.
- Be able to safely operate a variety of stationary or portable hand and power tools.
- Ability to read, comprehend and utilize work orders, prints, CAD/technical drawings, labor reports, and any numerical data related to effectively managing department outcomes.
- Understanding of piece rate incentive.
- Ability to use a Personal Computer to manipulate Global Shop software data related to job scheduling, job tracking, labor and time/attendance data.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
